2005 Visit Cambodian and Philippines and collaborate with Associate Professor Marlene Drysdale, Director of Indigenous Health Unit, Monash School of Rural Health, Faculty of Medicine to set up a community population health program based on the indigenous Health model in Australia. This would be a non hospital disease centered approach for the outlying provinces.
2005 Prepare external report on the Ateneo de Zamboanga, Philippines in the southern area of Mindanao for the President and look to improving training opportunities and international linkages particularly in community health with their specialized medical and nursing programs.

Returned to Cambodia for thirteenth visit in five years as project leader for Australian Business Volunteers with a team of six to complete and initiate the following

  • Quality Management Systems (QSM) and Diploma of Foundation Studies (DFS).
  • Integrated Database
  • Handbook and Accreditation with the Accreditation Commission of Cambodia
  • Enhance the Cambodian Association of Higher Education
  • Develop and Extended Campus network to achieve greater participation in post secondary training and education in the provinces
  • Establish the Jayvoraman Open Univeristy of Cambodia and offer and international Graduate Diploma in Khmer Studies.
  • Prepare tour for President of Australian Open University systems
  • Investigate a community health program with Monash University School of Rural Health based on the indigenous Health model in Australia.
2001 - Current

Norton University, Phnom Penh Cambodia Project funded by International Finance Corporation (the commercial arm of The World Bank) and Mekong Project Development Facility (MPDF) Australian Business Volunteers of AusAID and to Auckland University of Technology for Quality Management Systems (QSM)and Diploma of Foundation Studies (DFS). The final Phases are currently under completion and expect to be extended to the Jayvoraman VII Open University of Cambodia to commence in mid 2006.

Activities have included:

  • With Professor David Brook Pro Vice Chancellor AUT to prepare documentation for AUT, IFC and MPDF for reform of Higher Education in Cambodia
  • To develop proposal for Research Center in Higher Education with UNESCO Research Chair in conjunction with the Royal University of Phnom Penh
  • Business Adviser to Norton University and Banana Centre IELTS English Language Institute, Cambodia.
  • Academic Professional Development for Khmer academic staff.
2003 - Current Project Leader for AusAID project funded by IFC of The World Bank to examine the feasibility of the Global Development Learning Network and the Cambodian Knowledge Centre for the Royal Cambodian Government. Working with the Council of Ministers, the Council of Administrative Reform, the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia and the Cambodian Higher Education Association.
2002 - Current Consortium leader of Institute of Open Learning China Australia with Boston Partners to develop ESL and exchange programs with Zhang Wen Bin of Western Hill Middle School, Fujian Xishan School, Fugin City, Fuzhu Province China to teach and establish an International language Institute.

1970 - 1973 Director, Executive Producer and host of the Migrant Education Television Project for the Department of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs, Canberra, to initiate a project with a staff of 22 and working through commercial TV to explore the potential of TV for migrant education and integration. Scripted and hosted 80 one-hour weekly TV programs of "You Say the Word" which reached 19.6 percent of the target audience in Wollongong.  The program was then extended on Channel 10 network throughout Australia.
1970 Established the registered business of Alella Books for publishing.
1966 - 1970 Australian Broadcasting Commission, Radio and Television Broadcast Officer, holding appointments in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Scripted, hosted and produced over one hundred radio and TV programs in education drama and current affairs. Reporter, Today-Tonight, Brisbane ABC.  In 1970 was one of three script writers selected by the ABC to develop a new drama series.
